This piece is a tribute to resilience. It is about identity and the significance of urban environments in the collective conscuoisness of nation, society, fear, fun, destruction and regeneration, and laughter as a redeeming, divine power.

Si yo fuera un edificio, si fuera monumental…
¿Qué delicias me supone para bien o para mal?
Una raza de gigantes
Un futuro colosal
Que se cuelgue basamentos
De manera transversal
Y que tenga por sombrero
Un fresco puente peatonal
¿Qué delicias me supone para bien o para mal?

Immediately after the Sept 2017 earthquake in Mexico City people ran towards the buildings that had just fallen and began pulling out rubble and bricks with bare hands, looking for survivors. They worked day and night, under the rain, thousands of them. These people were truly giants.

Wearing a building, one that can crush you- what will kill you is technically the building, not the quake- is a way of transcending fear and rebuilding oneself by generating a whole new model of survival in an overwhelming environment.
One woman went on the catwalk in a wheelchair. She was the first to go up and the last to go down. She danced better than anyone wearing the Monument to Revolution on her head. Having done this, she mentioned to Mr. Towers: "You know I did sweat a bit" and off she went in her wheelchair towards a streaming multitude.
The hexagons Mr. Towers wears on his head represent the realm of ideas and thoughts transforming into reality. A Hexagon is a shape that can contain the most inside itself using the least amount of matter. They represent the transformation of the immaterial into the material world. Mr. Towers is the supraconscious mind of the City, the tower of vision. Towers are traditionally the structure with which human beings have tried to reach divinity and a symbol of transformation.
