3.
"El Salvador of the XXth Century" publicado en 1911 por un hombre llamado Perry

4.

Is an interpretation of outsider stories about Salvadorian history copied by hand and conveniently highlighted in colored pencils of the following documents:

1. "The South American Handbook 1978" found on a shelf at my mother's. El Salvador is not even in South America, but there it was, with the instructions and advice that saxon travelers gave to their traveling kinsmen right before the last salvadorian war. Traveling guide advice for most of latin America has not changed much in decades: Danger right since the airport, psychedelic justice, impunity, bullets, the chaos and the glory cheek to cheek.

2.
A map of the eighties found in El Zonte, El salvador. During this period maps of El Savador were prohibitted by the guerilla. Even so, two intrepid canadians mapped all South America and central America, including El Salvador, carefully quoting that inaccuracy and lack of information is to be expected under the circumstances.

3.
"El Salvador of the XX Century" published in 1911 by a man named Perry.

4.
A book of paper cuttings, news and vernissages belonging to the Salvadorian painter Luis Lazo.

5.
The photo and story told by Camila Sol about her grandmother Doña Altagracia de Sol and then of Dueñas.

6.
Other photographs

7.
Rubbings of some of the documents

All the copied contents were put in a box made of balsam tree wood, for we were in the mythic Balsam Coast.

Once the story completed, a Pedro de Alvarado event took place. The colonial desk were I had written this story was disembarked onto the beach and the box was opened for the ocean to decide what should remain.

Altagracia's photo and the map jumped into the water. Altagracia resturned after a while, same as she ever was, beautiful, intact, while the map was torn to shreds.

I made impossible collages with what was left of Central and put everything back in the box.
